The Muskingum Valley Park District - Conservation Kids Club

Conservation Kids Club

  • Mission Oaks Gardens

Does your family love to spend time outdoors? Are you interested in parks, conservation, wildlife, and the environment? In the past, the park district hosted monthly meetings with parent participation using activity packets mixed with hands on activities during the meetings. The program is currently on pause, but still accepting members.

The Muskingum Valley Park District is looking for families to participate in their Conservation Kids Club, an extension to the summer program funded by the J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation originally in 2021. All Muskingum County K-12 students are welcome. There is no cost for participation in the club program.

During each meeting, children learn about various topics and help with garden projects. The group maintains the raised beds in Olga’s Children’s Garden at Mission Oaks Gardens. While the Conservation Kids Club’s focus is on science and natural history subjects, program elements include a mix of life skills, art, and math. Registration is required.

The ultimate goal of our Conservation Kids Club is to create an extension of our summer program that meets throughout the school year to help keep children's connection to nature and conservation all year long.
