Conservation Kids Club
Does your family love to spend time outdoors? Are you interested in parks, conservation, wildlife, and the environment? Then join our Conservation Kids Club! We hold monthly meetings from 2pm to 4pm on the last Sunday of every month at Mission Oaks Gardens. Each child receives supplies and an activity packet to learn about conservation and related topics.
The Muskingum Valley Park District is looking for families to participate in their Conservation Kids Club, an extension to the summer program funded by the J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation originally in 2021. All Muskingum County K-12 students are welcome. There is no cost for participation in the club program.
The park district hosts monthly meetings on the last Sunday of every month at 2pm and parent participation is encouraged. During each meeting, children learn about various topics and help with garden projects. The group maintains the raised beds in Olga’s Children’s Garden at Mission Oaks Gardens. While the Conservation Kids Club’s focus is on science and natural history subjects, program elements include a mix of life skills, art, and math. Registration is required.
The ultimate goal of our Conservation Kids Club is to create an extension of our summer program that meets throughout the school year to help keep children's connection to nature and conservation all year long.
