Westview Community Park is a passive recreation area with a large green space for activities. This includes The Rotary Peace Pavilion, a 24-foot traditional gazebo sponsored and built by the Rotary Club of Zanesville Daybreak with native plantings maintained by Muskingum County Master Gardener’s. Six loops of the paved path is almost one mile. A Nature Play area with two canoes, a 4’x12’ tunnel with a rock wall, and a creative play space provided by a grant from the Muskingum County Community Foundation. Special thanks to Hartman’s Landscape for ongoing improvements to the property. The newest edition is “Jacob’s Place”, a picnic shelter donated by the Rogovin family to honor their son by creating an accessible gathering place for friends, food, smiles, acceptance, and positivity.
This site was acquired from Zanesville City School in September 2018 with the support of the local community. Then developed with financial assistance from a Federal Land and Water Conservation grant.
Things to do: Use the green space for netted sports like badminton or volleyball, field sports like soccer and football, ride your bike, skate, walk your pets, fly a kite, have a family picnic, and use your imagination in the Nature Play area.
Directions: Located in the City of Zanesville at the corner of Dresden Road and Englewood Avenue.
