The John McIntire Outdoor Classroom features plantings of native trees and prairie plants. The prairie plantings include a Monarch butterfly way station which is composed of over thirty milkweed plants representing three separate cultivars. A solar powered stone bubbler serves as a water source for pollinators and animals that visit the classroom.
Westview Community Park is a passive recreation area with a large green space for activities. This includes The Rotary Peace Pavilion, a 24-foot traditional gazebo sponsored and built by the Rotary Club of Zanesville Daybreak with native plantings maintained by Master Gardener Volunteers of Muskingum County. Six loops of the paved path is almost one mile.
The Bailey and AEP property comprises approximately 200 acres of land near Duncan Falls. The property offers a mix of hardwood forests, riverine wetlands, and open meadows. A 40-acre parcel was donated by the Bailey family to the Park District, with another 21 acres donated by American Electric Power (AEP).
The property was bequeathed to the Muskingum Valley Park District by Miss Bernice Delong for the establishment of Meadow Springs Farm.
McGraw Edison Recreation Area is an 80-acre park located nine miles east of Zanesville in Perry Township.
