Straker Landing
The Board of Muskingum Valley Park District Commissioners is pleased to announce the acquisition of 6.68 acres of riverfront property on the west bank of the Muskingum River. The property, formerly known as Kirkbride Marine, was acquired through a partnership between the Muskingum Valley Park District and the J.W. and M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation. Planned developments for Straker Landing include an access road and parking, picnic amenities, covered pavilions, paved recreational trails and a pedestrian bridge that will connect with the City of Zanesville’s Riverside Park on the east side of the river. The acquisition is consistent with the park district’s goal of revitalizing water-based recreation on the Muskingum River. The acquisition preserves one of the remaining parcels of accessible riverfront properties in Zanesville.
