Conservation Kids is a day camp experience for students entering grades 1st-12th (must have completed Kindergarten). We offer 9 weeks of themed programming while visiting multiple MVPD locations over the summer.
We will meet with campers weekly during summer recess to offer informal education about conservation, animal and plant diversity, natural resources, gardening, citizen science, sustainability and environmental impacts, art in nature, and community engagement.
The ultimate goal of our Conservation Kids program is to connect children with nature through experiential learning. In 2021, we filled part of the learning deficit that resulted from COVID-19 restrictions. The “Nature” of this non-traditional outdoor learning environment will help assure participant safety. A successful pilot program led to expanding county-wide this year.
Registration opens in April. Participant space is limited. Please note, we use email for the convenience of mass communicating with everyone at once about program updates . During the summer program, we email you weekly so your child arrives prepared for camp.
View the 2022 Flyer for weekly themes. We will meet on Wednesdays starting June 8 through August 3 from 9a-3p. Details will be emailed to registrants.
