Conservation Kids Summer Program

Conservation Kids is a day camp experience for students entering first grade through 12th (must have completed Kindergarten). We offer 9 weeks of themed programming while visiting multiple MVPD locations over the summer, and at least one field trip on week 10. The program meets every Wednesday (2023 June 7th-August 2nd; field trip on August 9th) with campers during summer recess to offer informal education about conservation, animal and plant diversity, natural resources, gardening, citizen science, sustainability and environmental impacts, art in nature, and community engagement.

The ultimate goal of our Conservation Kids summer program is to connect children with nature through experiential learning. This program launched with a grant by the J.W. & M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation originally in 2021 and keeps growing! All Muskingum County students in grades 1st-6th are welcome. Grades 7th-12th can sign up as “Junior Naturalists” and help manage programming and the younger students.

*Participant space is limited* Cost is $20 per child due on or before the first day of camp. Cash or check payments accepted. You will need to pack a lunch and we will provide snacks and water. Please note, we use email for the convenience of mass communicating with everyone about program updates. During the summer program, we email you weekly, so your child arrives prepared for camp with needs and what to expect. Please provide an email you check regularly during registration.

Thank you for your interest in Conservation Kids. We have reached capacity for the 2023 summer as of May 11, 2023. You can email the program coordinator, Michelle, at MLILLING@muskingumcounty.org with any questions
